ST George's Day

Saint George is the patron saint of England and the Saint George's Cross (a red cross on a white background) is used as England's national flag. Saint George's Day (23 April) is a National Day in England. Once an important holiday, it is, however, not celebrated that much anymore - it's not even a public holiday.
Saint George lived in the third century. He served as a soldier in the Roman Empire where he even became a member of the personal guard of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. When in 303, however, the emperor ordered the persecution of Christians, George dared to criticize the Diocletian and to confess that he was a Christian, too. This enraged Diocletian and so George was tortured and executed as a traitor on 23 April 303.
Saint George is probably best known for his killing a dragon. Legend has it that a fierce dragon lived near a town called Silene. Every day, the people of Silene had to feed the dragon a virgin, who was chosen by lot. One day the princess was to be sacrificed, but George hurried to help her. With his lance called Ascalon, George killed the dragon and saved the princess. The king and the people of the town were so happy that they wanted to reward George. George asked them to convert to Christianity and so they did.

Hope you all had a great St George's day today. I spent the day nursing a headache which is sort of going now. It's very humid and quite foggy. The fog horn has been sounding all day today and most of yesterday too actually. I will be uploading some photos soon. I hope the dry weather continues for a while longer

It's my First Pink Saturday

HI everyone

yipee its my first Pink Saturday ever. I went to Beverlies how sweet the sound blog and was intrigued by this event. I love pink its my second favourite colour, the first being Purple. Well I sent an email saying I wanted to join and here is my first effort.

my yummy Rose bubble bath, body lotion and rose bath bomb. The necklace is one I made and kept it for myself. I fell in love with it so much. It broke once and I put it back together.

Not many people know that I am a crystal healer, a reiki master and a reflexologist. I like to incorporate color thereapy and thought that I would write a bit about the colour pink and its theraputic values.

ROSE PINK

  • It relaxes the physical body and helps us to receive. Itprepares us to respond

  • the essence of rose pink is full bloom ; maturity

  • a very feminine colour Rose pink states that a woman is ready to have what a mature woman wants. When I man is in his rose pink stage he is 'distinguished'

  • rose pink has healing beauty

  • it has beauty that expands that extends beyond the physical

  • it is the in breath of the breathing cycle

  • rose pink is a constant affection, faithful, forgiving, the true love that we are all searching for.

  • its the colour of support when we feel betrayed or let down

  • helps us to love ourselves and to love others.

  • its one of the colours of peace and helps get rid of hang ups.

the colours red and white make up pink so you may find that you are spiritual (white) and passionate (red) you may find that people are drawn to you when you wear pink its a comforting open colour.

I hope I havent bored you all too much, cant wait for next pink saturday.
