Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog. What is a kimberline you ask? Well where I live in Portland, Dorset, it is a nickname given to newcomers to the Island. Yes Portland is an Island seperated from Weymouth by a causeway. Its part of the Jurassic coast and I love living here. I will be posting lots of different things I hope you enjoy visiting here. Hugs Sara

Our wedding day was so special.  The first photo is my husband Rob on the left and his brother Pete the best man on the right.  I couldnt believe how wonderful it went and the weather was gorgeous more than I could have hoped for.
THe next photo is of me and my Uncle Grosvenor and Emma my best friend and bridesmaid.  My dad passed away a good few years so I asked my uncle in his place.  See how he towers above me.  All 6 foot 7 inches of him.  My best friend I have known for 17 years who else could I have asked?
THe mock signing of the registar.  I cant believe how happy we both look.
The witnesses, best man and bridesmaid.  THey look they could be a happy couple dont they?
Cutting the cake.  Our friend Ray who is in the harley club we belong to did us proud.  I asked for art deco and boy I sure got it.  Everyone commented on the cake.  It tasted as wonderful as it looked
Well we couldnt not include the bikes.  Two of our closest friends were delighted to be our harley escort for the day.
Another one of Robs brothers ROy.  Surprised me with this 1929 rolls royce wedding car for photos.  I  was stunned beyond belief.  Even the vicar was in on the surprise.
Rob, me and my mum, she paid for the wedding without her we wouldnt be married right now.  She looked so beautiful in that dress.  It was a shame that dad and my nan werent alive to see us all but I know they were with us watching over us and I think they would have been proud and shed a few tears like I did in a private moment.
I will post some more pictures of the evening melarchy that followed but for now I think I have bored everyone enough.

Mr and Mrs Twycross

Hi All

We did it.  We got married and it was such a wonderful day.  The weather was better than we could have hoped for and everything went so well it was unbelieveable.  I was surprised with a 1920's car which I knew nothing about for photos.  I am going to put loads of pictures on when we get back off honeymoon.  We are leaving for our honeymoon just as soon as I have finished this post

Getting Married

Hi Everyone
We are getting Married!

Its happening on this Saturday June 12th.  I cant wait for the day to be here.  My poor little brain cant cope with something like a wedding to organise.  Thank goodness for my mum.  She has been wonderful.  I dont think I have told her how much I appreciate her help ( and she is paying for the wedding reception too)  Rob and I will have been together 5 years now so I thought it was a nice time to get married.  We chose June because its before the shool holidays and prices are less expensive.  We are honeymooning up in Avemore in Scotland.  We love the wildlife and as it is near theCaimgorne mountains it will be perfect.  I will post pictures of the wedding and honey moon when we get back.  We get back June 25th.  Of course I will be having a break from blogging that is unless there is internet access where we are staying.
I will post when I get back if not.

Babs' the baby seagulls little drama!

So here is the drama that took up a lot of the weekend.  We have had some lovely weather.  I hope it continues.

Friday morning very early at 530am ish I heard a lot of seagulls.  Now living where we do we are used to the noisey seagulls waking us up, but I could sense that this was different.  I looked out the window and the sky was almost white for the seagulls circling around and around squawking their heads off.  Then I saw a fox running off.  A neighbour told me that he had caught a fully grown seagull and stored it under the bushes.  Well that to me means he must have cubs somewhere near by and he would be back.  Unfotunately I missed him coming back. Now this is the drama that unfolded the next day making me miss the fox coming back.

Early the next evening mum knocked on my door.  Fiance was out collecting another harley he had got cheap to use as a runaround for work.  Thats another story for another post.  Apparantly there had been a fight between a load of seagulls and the black back gulls that had young chicks (3) nesting on the flat roofs opposite.  Mum said that the drama ended with one of the chicks falling off and ending up on the floor unable to get back.  It had been quite a cuffufle.  Not being one to intererfere with wildlife I tried phoning round the rspca etc for help and advice.  Nothing, no one answered it being a weekend evening.  Remembering the fox drama and knowing how fast the cars drive around the corner I knew the little chick wouldnt stand a chance.

The result is.........

Saturday morning saw us making a few more phone calls and the very end result is that he has gone to a local lady who cares for injured and fallen birds.  Phew what an excitement.  But it was so adorable.  I would have liked to rear it my self but it was impossible to do so and kinder to give it to someone who knew what they were doing.

Back to Market

Bridport, a small resort consisting of an old town and a fishing port, famous then as now for being the main producer of ropes on the country. It also hosts an all round year market on Saturdays.  Its a fantastic market for all things vintage and the unique and unusual to garden plants and rocking chairs for sale.  I love it when we get to visit as it is just down the road from West bay (West Bay is a major gateway to the Jurassic Coast, which covers 95 miles of coast from Orcombe Rocks at Exmouth, Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset. Sometimes known as the Dinosaur Coast, tourists throughout the world visit West Dorset for fossil hunting in stunning coastal scenery. The famous sandstone East Cliff at West Bay exposes 180 million years of history.  There is a fab cafe which hosts the best cheesy chips we have ever tasted.  Yummy .  Anyway back to Bridport.  We went there a couple of Saturdays ago and I came home with some great finds.

I cant wait to make something creative with them
