Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog. What is a kimberline you ask? Well where I live in Portland, Dorset, it is a nickname given to newcomers to the Island. Yes Portland is an Island seperated from Weymouth by a causeway. Its part of the Jurassic coast and I love living here. I will be posting lots of different things I hope you enjoy visiting here. Inspired by Pink

Hi everyone
Well another pink Saturday finds me attending Portland Gooseberry fair.  Pictures coming up tomorrow.  Its a local fair but am not sure sure why its called the gooseberry fair.  It was a lovely morning and we found a few bargains.  Back to pink Saturday.  I made this necklace a couple of days ago and thought it would make a perfect pink Saturday post.  I am going to put it on etsy and see what happens.  I decided to keep the blue mermaid one but make another similar and put that one on Etsy too.

mermaid necklace and bracelet I made

So here is my latest jellewery make.  I havent made any necklaces or bracelets for ages.  Recently though I found a couple of new bead suppliers locally and was inspired.  I have a thing about mermaids at the moment.  I absolutely love them.  They are so mystical and fascinating and inspiring.  I made it for myself but my mum thinks I should put them up on Etsy for sale.  They would be quite expensive as I wasnt thinking about retail prices when I made them.  I am in a quandary, not sure what to do now.

portland Steam fair Pink Saturday post

Hi everyone

Our harley club were part of Portland Steam and vintage fair last weekend. We had our bikes on display for the Saturday and Sunday.  I didnt go on Saturday as I was recovering from the tea party but I went on the Sunday.  It was a great day even the weather turned out nice in the end.  We had a wonder round and armed with camera we were just in time to see the cheerleaders do their thing and what were they wearing?  Black and pink of course.  Then we saw a gypsy caravan that sported some pinkness so I had to photograph that.  I love real Gypsy caravans.

Hope you all have a great pink Saturday.

And as a real treat at the end of the day.  One of the fairground rides let us have a go on his ride.  Well with the combined weight of all of us I am amazed we didnt break the thing.  It wasnt pink but it sure was fun

we drew quite a crowd, they thought it was just as funny as we did, lots of people took photos.  It was a bit of fun for everyone.

My little tea party PInk Saturday Post

Hi everyone.

Yesterday was my Tea Party.  We had such a fantastic time.  There was 9 of us in all but I was so busy that I forgot to take photos of it in full swing.  Though I did take a few photos of it before they all came.  Everyone turned up and it was declared a success.

I was up at 8.30am to finish my baking that I should have done the night before but that never happened.  The first thing to do was the raspberry egg custard tart with thme.  I got the recepie from Delicious magazine.

this was my version after a bit of a disaster.  I cheated and brought the pastry cases because I am a lazy cook.  Well one of the cases broke and the custard mix came seeping out of the oven onto the floor and made such a mess.  HOwever I salvaged most of it and had one good one and sliced the rest of the other one.  No one even knew about the disaster.  It was a real mess clearing it up though

Then a bit ambitiously I thought I would make some scones.  I have never done scones before.  I weas a bit nervous because I never use butter in my cakes or anything.  I use flora light.  It works in my dundee cake a treat.  So I followed the recipie I got on the internet and they came out just fine.  They were very tasty and very popular.  I made two batches.  I will be making some more

So the night before I made some cupcakes, they had turned out well and I had so much fun decorating them it was ridiculous.  My husband came home and I was upstairs and had to shout Hands off those.  He was in the kitchen I could hear him.  I did give him one later though.

There werent many of these left.
The whole room looked lovely here is a couple of photos to show you the effect.

So that is my tea party, which I might consider doing as a yearly event it was so popular.  My mum helped and did the sandwiches for me which I didnt get round to photographing.  There was cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon and cucumber.  Ham, Cheese spread with chopped spring onions fresh from my garden.  Red salmon sandwiches all with the crusts cut off of course.  I served two types of loose tea.  An assam tea and a blossom early grey tea.  I am going to post all the recipies on my other blog

Back to crafting

Hi everyone

Happy pink Saturday.  I am a little late in posting.  It was such a glorious day and there was an art in the park event at our local park that we went to.  I will post about that later.  It was a great few hours.

I am going to be hosting a tea party on Friday.  I have been wanting to do one for ages.  I am going to make all the cakes and everything.  Proper tea in china teacups.  I cant wait. I made some invitations and had a go at some bunting.  Instead of material I used muslin and covered it with different shades of pink tissue paper and decorated them.  I made seven pieces and shall definately be making some more.

white wednesday post

Hi everyone

here is a delightful picture of some cotten grass in Scotland.  We went to Aviemore for a couple of weeks and this is the cotten grass that was everywhere

maybe the dragonfly thought my white cardigan was cotton grass?

it was midsummers day and there was snow of the cairngorm mountains.  People were having snow ball fights because they could.  How cool is that.
