PINK Saturday post
Hi everyone. Its a horrible day here in Portland UK its pouring with rain and there doesnt look any signs of it stopping. Still here is my pink Saturday post to cheer me up and everyone else who is having horrible weather up.
last Sunday we went for a lovely walk to the Portland museum not that far from us. We didnt go inside the museum but sat in the gardens and enjoyed a coffee. Here are the pictures from that day.
lots of wildlife came to us that day. I will post another post about that but for now have a fab Pink Saturday and I hope its drier than mine.

MUM is Home, YAY
Hi everyone
just to let you know my mum came home yesterday. She is back to her old self again too. Apparantly she is now suffering a very mild form of Epilepsy. They have upped her dosage of Lamotragine (dont know how to spell it.) and seeing how that works. It was so nice to bring her home with us. The hospital isnt that far from us but its nice for mum to be sleeping in her own bed. On the way out we came across this amazing piece of art. I had to photograph it and share.

Pink Saturday, A thank you and a Gripe
Hi all
Another Pink Saturday. Its been an awful week. On Thursday mum a neighbour and I went shopping. We had a lovely time and when we came back I had a rest as I was tired and my back was really hurting me. Around 5.30pm I got a phone call from mum saying she wasnt well. LIving three doors away I went straight round there and she was in a state. She was kinda ok in herself but she said her left arm had gone numb and given she had had a stroke last August I phoned the ambulance. They came and said that we think she has had a T.I.A which is a transistant infartial activity basically a blead on the brain whilst on the move. She was making her tea at the time. She had managed to walk to the phone and call me. Her speach was ok but she was struggling with some words. Her arm didnt stay numb for long but whilst the ambulance people were there she had new symptoms so they took her in.
Well, this is the thank you and a gripe. The ambulance man and woman were brilliant, they were so friendly and helpful a massive thank you is in order. The driver Sam said I could come and sit in the front with her. It was a very insiteful journey. Onto my gripe. Sigh, I know not everyone does this so if you are a nice thoughtful driver who gets out of the way for a ambulance please dont take this as a gripe about you. It is meant for the IDIOTS who either carry on and screach on their breaks til they stop dead, the plonkers who stop opposite a parked car or a driver who stops the other side of the road to let us through. The car owners who park in a narrow street opposite each other and drivers using a mobile phone ignoring the sirens. The driver has so much to concentrate on in the front. She has to look at the whole picture. She cant go too fast if the patient is in the stretcher and her partner is treating her moving around in the van. I was appalled to discover that they only get 3 weeks training. I was full of admiration for them, they certainly have it to put up with, they do a 12 hour shift and have so many days on then a weekend or something like that off. I really couldnt do their job for love or money.
Back to my mum, she isnt too bad at all, they are keeping her in to see why she had the T.I.A but should be home soon. Hope you have a great Pink Saturday, thanks to Bev at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/
