Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog. What is a kimberline you ask? Well where I live in Portland, Dorset, it is a nickname given to newcomers to the Island. Yes Portland is an Island seperated from Weymouth by a causeway. Its part of the Jurassic coast and I love living here. I will be posting lots of different things I hope you enjoy visiting here. Hugs Sara

My little tea party PInk Saturday Post

Hi everyone.

Yesterday was my Tea Party.  We had such a fantastic time.  There was 9 of us in all but I was so busy that I forgot to take photos of it in full swing.  Though I did take a few photos of it before they all came.  Everyone turned up and it was declared a success.

I was up at 8.30am to finish my baking that I should have done the night before but that never happened.  The first thing to do was the raspberry egg custard tart with thme.  I got the recepie from Delicious magazine.

this was my version after a bit of a disaster.  I cheated and brought the pastry cases because I am a lazy cook.  Well one of the cases broke and the custard mix came seeping out of the oven onto the floor and made such a mess.  HOwever I salvaged most of it and had one good one and sliced the rest of the other one.  No one even knew about the disaster.  It was a real mess clearing it up though

Then a bit ambitiously I thought I would make some scones.  I have never done scones before.  I weas a bit nervous because I never use butter in my cakes or anything.  I use flora light.  It works in my dundee cake a treat.  So I followed the recipie I got on the internet and they came out just fine.  They were very tasty and very popular.  I made two batches.  I will be making some more

So the night before I made some cupcakes, they had turned out well and I had so much fun decorating them it was ridiculous.  My husband came home and I was upstairs and had to shout Hands off those.  He was in the kitchen I could hear him.  I did give him one later though.

There werent many of these left.
The whole room looked lovely here is a couple of photos to show you the effect.

So that is my tea party, which I might consider doing as a yearly event it was so popular.  My mum helped and did the sandwiches for me which I didnt get round to photographing.  There was cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon and cucumber.  Ham, Cheese spread with chopped spring onions fresh from my garden.  Red salmon sandwiches all with the crusts cut off of course.  I served two types of loose tea.  An assam tea and a blossom early grey tea.  I am going to post all the recipies on my other blog
A big thanks to Beverly at
for hosting Pink Saturday.

Happy Pink Saturday to you! Thanks for coming over.

Your tea party looked really nice. You did a lot of work on it! A lot of people here, go to tea houses and have them do all the work. This was wonderful of you to do it for nine friends!

So nice to meet you - from England.
