A little touch of Autumn

Hi Everyone.  I thought it was time I showed my autumn display in the house.  I love the colours of orange and copper this time of year.  Actually they are there pretty much all year because I love it so much.  We dont have a huge house but I have lots of things so its all crammed in.
I love taking photos of nature.  These berries are in my mums garden three doors away.
Chinese Lanterns.  Dont you just love them.  To me they are so cheery (and I could do with cheering up today).  These are in my garden I have three out in bloom at the moment.  I can so imagine the fairies using them as a light at night time.

It's raining today which doesnt help my mood so I decided to put these images up to make me and hopefully you smile!

Tea party under a full moon blog party post

We are here, a tea party on a full moon.  Who would have thought it.  Anna's wonderful idea over at Frosted Petunia's  is actually here.  I couldnt wait to join in on the fun after the success of her Practical magic blog party.

So what to post, well that was the big one.  Being a mixed media artist I went with the crafty ideas.  Collecting supplies for Halloween (samhain)
I couldn't wait to get crafting again
A cup of tea was just inspiration guanteed
a plethora of ideas indeed
more than one cup of tea I guess was in need

I stamped and glittered, cut and coloured
Autuminal colours russet, brown, green, orange and red

Thirsty work this designing game
trying not to get everything looking the same

Pumpkins and gourds are my favourite things
next to broomsticks, and crows and orangy rings

I am so glad you came to my post today
maybe for a while you might even stay

Hope you enjoyed the post as much as I did creating it.  With the help of my wonderful husband of course.  Next Saturday I am going to Glastonbury to the Fairy Ball.  I promise to post about it.  I went a couple of years ago and I am very excited.  Also during the day local to us is a psychic fair that we shall be attending.  Plus for a pressie my Husband is going to give me a tarot reading on Halloween.  How cool is that?

A Witches Tale

A fairy wispered to me the other day they would like a new home for them to rest and play.

After a few days of collecting supplies.  Cardboard, flowers and battery operated LED lights.  I set to work.
I had already made the fairies a basic home but it was very unstable and ever so small.  I was determined to make them a home to be proud of.
So I gathered some moss and a few more things.  Cut and glued the house together, no formal plan just inspiration a plenty.
A fairy was watching giggling I could hear, I could sence that they were near.  I made them a bed, table and chairs

Gave them plenty of room so they could say their prayers.  An offerings bowl right at the front, a few sparkly things so they can play

A birds nest or two and lights so they can find their way

Home to bed at the end of the day.

This one is from a journal prompt over at roses on my table.  I liked the

This Second one I had done a while back but it makes me smile everytime I look at it.
This one I love butterflies, can you tell?  Its quite bold for me and it was nice to do something a bit different.

Coincidences galore

Just lately I have been getting a lot of coincidences like the 10.10.10 post earlier.  I have been interested in white magic for a long time but just of late I have been reading several books that have hit home with me.
  • Sea Witch,  Wendy JoubertSea Witch
  • Sea Magic: Connecting with the Ocean's Energy, Sandra KynesSea Magic: Connecting with the Ocean's Energy
Garden Witch's Herbal: Green Magick, Herbalism & Spirituality, Ellen DuganGarden Witch's Herbal: Green Magick, Herbalism & Spirituality

I got the first two because living by the sea I have always been curious as to why I am so connected to shells and dolphins etc.

The third one because I love gardening and herbs and it looked like a great read.  I am just starting it now.  Anyway the point is.  I have been led to another book I forget the title at a really cheap price and then I was given a request to join a group in the enchanted forest ning group called Garden witchery.  Then yesterday I found a really nice symbol of the triquetra (my symbol) with flowers on it.  Again at a really cheap price that I just couldnt not get it.  Something is screaming at me.  I have no idea why but maybe someone out there may have a clue or two as to what it is all about.  Oh yes this morning I looked at one of my favourite blogs

http://bloubell-alteredexpressions.blogspot.com/

to find that she had made two gorgeous accordition books for her granddaughters and one of them had yep you guessed it, my name SARA on it.

10.10.10

When I woke up this morning something struck me.  NOt literally it was like a lightbulb moment.  It wasnt until I looked at the clock that I realised that I had woken up at 10:10am.  Now I have always been interested in numerology and I am always seeing the numbers 222 and 444.  So I wondered why the lightbulb moment?  THen when I got downstairs and looked at the calender I noticed with some startling surprise that it was the 10.10.10 I mean what are the probablities of waking up at 10:10am on the tenth  of the tenth month on the year2010.  Then I also realised that today is the eve of my nans passing a few years ago.  So now I knew why the lightbulb moment.  I did a quick search on the internet and came up with this

• Numerology says that the number ten is the number of Manifestation or Completion.

• Numerology would also state that this date, in its 10-10-10 form would be the number 3, the coming together of three lines to form the first integrated shape.

• Going for more traditional numerology you would have to add the “20″ to 2010, making it a number 5, a number that signifies the quest for greater spiritual meaning.

• In the Mayan calendar the day 10-10-10 is 7 Caban, the Earth. This combination of the number seven and the glyph or symbolic image of Caban combine to give us an empowering quality to our connection to this world we live in right here, right now. This centeredness is reflected in the three 10′s with one point within the earth, another within our higher existence, and the third so strongly centered within the self at the point we call our “soul”.

• There is a biblical interpretation we could focus on the 10 commandments and the 10 plagues all point to rules or judgments. Proverbs 10.10 gives us the following: “He who winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.” Matthew 10:10 gives us “Take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep.” Lastly, we can take heed, or read as ominous, the message found in Corinthians 10:10 “Don’t complain as some of them did. The angel of death destroyed them.”.

• October 10, 2010 or 10-10-10 does fall within the opening days of the Venus retrograde, and retrogrades are known to be symbolic! Often issues of the past return for completion, and from my intuitive and spiritually founded viewpoint this is a great opportunity to grow and be in control of our own destiny! Being a Venus retrograde we can expect that this time will be focused on our relationships, perhaps on a personal level, but it could mean a global level as well.

What can we do to make this day of 10-10-10 a day of fortune and grace, rather than unfinished business staring us in the face? We can do the same thing that is available to us every day of our lives: focus, bring your consciousness back from the things and places you’ve left it back into the now, treat every living thing including yourself as divine, and choose to give the world exactly what you want to come back to you.

A part of us always wants to “guard our back”, seeking out some ominous message in the alignment of numbers, but we can also look at this balance of numbers: 10 10 10, as a symbol that success comes when we strive for a balanced outcome in every aspect of life. Have a wonderful 10-10-10 – let’s make this day everything we wish it to be.

Pink Saturday cancer awareness month

Hi All
As this month is cancer awareness month I thought I would focus this pink Saturday post on it.  What is it about the word cancer that strikes that aching fear into our hearts.  Even writing it is a struggle for me.  There is no getting away from it and unfortunately most of know someone that has gone through cancer, or not made it through cancer.

http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/

I wanted to try and focus on the side of cancer that brings strangers together.  That makes someone love life to the absolute full, that appreciates everything, that takes someone through the dark into the light.  I found this poem on the net and it said everything I wanted to so simply yet profoundly

Cancer is so limited that:

It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit
