Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog. What is a kimberline you ask? Well where I live in Portland, Dorset, it is a nickname given to newcomers to the Island. Yes Portland is an Island seperated from Weymouth by a causeway. Its part of the Jurassic coast and I love living here. I will be posting lots of different things I hope you enjoy visiting here. Inspiration of the sea

Living by the sea is a great source of inspiration for me.  The seaview from my kitchen window is never the same twice.  Boats and ships passing by and calm and rough seas provide hours of entertainment.  We have a few fabulous coastal walks by us and the one to Portland Bill lighthouse is one of my favourites.  Last time we were there there was a anchor wreath.  It was sad to see but in the other hand it made me want to go home and create.  As a shell collector I love being by the sea though there arent many shells on our rocky jurassic shores. I have to sometimes buy them .  The seagulls are common here and this time of the year they are nesting and fighting each other for female attention.  Some of the fights I have seen are quite something.

I know just what you mean about the seashore's inspiration! We must have very similar beaches, as where I live it is hard to find much of anything aside from clamshells and oyster shells (and the oyster shells are there because many of our local towns are now farming oysters in oyster beds not far from shore). ;)

I think we must have. We farm oysters too. I expect we also have clamshells. Hugs Sara
