Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog. What is a kimberline you ask? Well where I live in Portland, Dorset, it is a nickname given to newcomers to the Island. Yes Portland is an Island seperated from Weymouth by a causeway. Its part of the Jurassic coast and I love living here. I will be posting lots of different things I hope you enjoy visiting here. A Happy christmas/yule

Hi everyone

Hope you all have a wonderful festive season.  We are having a quiet one well I say that, it will be Dolly's (mums pup) first christmas and she loves I mean really loves shredding paper.  It will be messy.  She will have to go creful though as she has gone and chipped a bit off her knee bone.  ITs a long story let me just say, to those of you who know the Andrex toilet roll advert you wont know whether to laugh or cry.  I did both.  A massive thank you for supporting my blog and for the cards I have received.  Heres to a wonderful 2012.

Hi Everyone

Christmas Trimmings

I love christmas, I love putting up the tree and this year I decided to change my colour scheme to silver and mint green.  I am so pleased with the things I brought.  I even made a few ornaments and decorated the smaller tree with those that I had made.  Actually the big tree holds 3 things I made cause they fitted in with the colour scheme.

the white and pearl ball is one I made

As is the snowflake in blue and silver with a crystal flower in the middle

As is the blingy silver ball.

I loved making my own, it is so satisfying.

my pinecone display.

Hope you are all enjoying the christmas season and not getting too stressed.  We are having a quiet xmas again, just the three of us and Dolly.  It will be her first christmas, I know she will get spoilt,

Some handmade christmas ornaments

Hi Everyone

I have been busy making some christmas ornaments after seeing a tutorial over on youtube which inspired me.  I have never made my own ornaments before and I really enjoyed it.  I shall definitely be making some more.

I think I enjoyed making the beaded snowflakes the best.  I am so pleased my new glue gun works properly.  I dont know how I managed so long without one.

Barn Owl Halloween and a recipie

Hi Everyone

I am bunged up with a cold at the moment.  Its on its way out though thankfully.  I have been busy crafting and have some new things on my Etsy site.  Just thinking about getting ready for christmas.  I cant believe it is coming round so fast already.  Looking forward to Bonfire night on the 5th November.  Here is what we have been up to lately.

The weekend before Halloween we went to our local garden centre and they were giving a talk on Barn Owls.  One of my favourite birds of prey.  They are such amazing creatures.  The people were from secret world a charity that take in injured and sick birds and animals.  We have done lots of charity events for them withing our bike club.
Then on Halloween Mum, me Carol our neighbour and the dogs Dolly and Holly went for a walk and it was amazing.  We went through the old graveyard and some of the statues are so  amazing to look at.  The church itself is the oldest on Portland and made out of our very own Portland Stone.  The same stuff that St Pauls Cathedral is made of.

On our way back home we saw (what I think is a Kestral) this.  It was hunting and we watched it for ages before it caught its lunch and took it to this post to eat

This Recipie is my version of cheesy veg bake.  For this you will need
Carrots
Parsnips
brocoli
cauliflower
Cheese
herbs
cheese sauce granuals.

Layer the sliced veg and then add a layer of grated cheese.  Make a cheesy sauce with the granuals and herbs of your choice.  pour over first layer.  Layer the veg again minus the cheese and add rest of the sauce.  Place in oven (ours is electric 200oc) for around 30 minutes.  Take out and add another layer of grated cheese on the top.  Give it another 15 minutes then take out and serve.
We had ours as a side dish to Pie I brought but it would be fab with a salad and crusty bread.  You can very the veg used as well, add potatoes, courgettes whatever you like.
Its Yummy

Halloween makes

I had ordered a fab halloween kit from fiona.  Jennings644 on youtube.  She is a great person and has some really good tutorial videos.  Well I had this old jar hanging around for ages and decided to do this with it.  It was a bit hair raising but I got through it and used stuff I already had as well as the kit.  The writing says 'hubble bubble toil and trouble'. Hope you like it.

Halloween kit

Hi Everyone.

I made this youtube video of a halloween mini flip album that I will be putting on Etsy soon.  I know I said it was my first video on the clip and its not strtickly speaking true, but, it is my first video I did for something I made to put up for sale.  I forgot to mention the price.  It will be £5.99 plus postage when I have worked out how much that will be.  Let me know what you think.  I will be putting more videos up soon as well.

The first day of October

Hi everyone.  Well the countdown to Samhain has begun.  I didnt do a post yesterday because we were busy.  Rob and I are both big fans of the film Mutony on the Bounty.  The one with Antony Hopkins and Mel Gibson.  We have watched that film so many times, it is one of Robs favourite Tall Ships.  So when we got wind of The Replica of the HMS Bounty ( the very one that was used in the film, and also starred in Pirates of the Carrabian) sailing into our very own harbour at Weymouth, we hot footed it down to have a look.  It is such an impressive ship when you see it so close.  We paid to go and have a look on it and we were awestruck by its beauty.  Not too mention that we were treading on the footprints of so many stars.  The ship was made a third bigger for filming purposes and parts of the ship have obviously been restored.  Here are some of the highlights of the trip.  It is sailing for America on Monday where it will be moored.  I was so thrilled to get a lifetime opportunity to see it.
