PINK SATURDAY

Hi all

Thanks to Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for hosting Pink Saturday.  Its a great way to make new friends and visit some great blogs.  I have given my blog an update and a new name.  It used to be Sara's Creations.

It's been a very long time since I posted anything on pink Saturday.  It has been a bit chaotic.  Mum had a stroke and has recovered almost 90% from it.  She is just a bit week on the left side and has left her pereferall (cant spell it right) vision a bit impared.  Her speach and everything else is fine.  We are also in the process of moving house, which is quite stressful as the goal posts of the completion date keeps moving back and forth.  Anyway.  Here are some picktures of some gorgeous pink flowers and one has a picture of mum in it.

Mum's Garden birds

I was at mums this weekend and she has some wonderful birds come into her garden.  The other day she got some wonderful photos of a green woodpecker.  This is a small selection of some of the birds she gets all the time.  The Robin being my favourite.  I always try not to underestimate the starling.  They have such pretty markings and colours that you can never quite fully capture on camera.

More from mum's Garden

All lined up waiting for something to happen.  Couldnt resist taking this picture of mums ornaments
mum getting in on the act.  It was a lovely sunny day so made the most of it with some photos.  The photo below was a bowl outside with frozen water as though it was sunny it was still cold as it had snowed the night before.  I thought the leaves that were frozen at the bottom made an interesting photo

The tyre tracks of our landrover.  It was only a thin layering and didnt last til lunch time.  Got a few good photos though.

The vintage purple party

ooooooooh I love a party and a vintage purple one is just the best idea ever with purple being my favourite colour of all.  The first two pictures are makes I have made recently.  The first one was for the secret valentines swap hosted over on etsy cottage style.  It was an amazing swap.  The second is a lavender sachet I made that is hanging up on the door to the cupboard under the stairs which I use as my little computer room.  I sewed the patches on and put some dried roses and lavender plus an amethyst crystal and rose quartz crystal in side.  I had such fun making it.  I hope everyone joins in on the party, what fun.

ONE WORLD ONE HEART GIVEAWAY

WHAT IS ONE WORLD ONE HEART?

This is what the organiser Lisa said about the event.
Photo
I created this event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong.
We had a strong showing the first year for sure, and then in 2008 we had just about tripled that number. In 2009 there were 911 participants, to say I was amazed is an understatement. 28 countries were represented in the 2009 event as well.
This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits. Someone who may be fairly new to blogging, not sure how to navigate, find others and have others find them....Some are long time bloggers and in some cases well known in the blogging community. Whatever the case it brings all of them together. This is an INTERNATIONAL event that has and had participants from the US, Canada, France, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Malaysia, Brazil, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, England,Wales, Slovenia and more. It transcends geographical location, socio economics, political affiliation, religious beliefs......it's a coming together like the giant community we are on this planet. If only it took a simple giveaway to create PEACE everywhere, in the mean time here we give from our hearts. We are not solving the worlds problems nor are we curing anything nor are we changing the world. We are merely generating a closer community between humans through blogging. What more could I ask for, my little idea has surpassed my wildest dreams of what it could become.
I don't like rules but sometimes there needs to be at least guidelines to keeping things cohesive and fair for everyone.
You don't need to be an artist to participate each year, this is open to everyone. What it's not meant for is self promotion. Meaning that the mission of this event is to meet new people and them meet you, rather than be a commercial for each persons specific endeavors. Many people have links to their websites, Etsy sites etc. already on their blog therefore the "visitor" can click on those to find out more about what a person does. The aim is for the event post itself to be about welcoming and showing what each visitor has a chance to win by stopping by.....AND giving the visitor a chance to read and learn more about each person along the way.
Think of this as taking a giant tour of homes; you get to stop in, look around, meet the people who live there, admire and be inspired and before you go on to the next one you leave your name in hopes to win a door prize at each "home".

MY GIVEAWAY IS going to consist of two seperite prizes the first prize is a Handmade lavender sachet that you can hang and it gives the most lovely smell of lavender.  I did decorite it with Winnie the pooh and also in this prize is some crystals a blue lace agate ball, a quartz crystal, a rose quartz crystal heart, a piece of citrine and a piece of selenite. and a little pewter angel worry slab for your purse, pocket wherever.

PRIZE NUMBER TWO is a mothers day journal I made with space to add your own photos and writing for a wonderful mothers day present.  WIn a gift to give.
hope you enjoy stopping by and I will be announcing winners on Febuary the 15th.  Please make sure that you leave a way I can contact you if you win.
hugs

Change of layout for valentines

Thanks Ingrid for letting me have the code for your gorgeous background layout.
http://cute-bloglayouts.blogspot.com/

She has some gorgeous layouts.  You need to email her for the code but boy is she ever fast in replying.  Yesterday I went for a walk and took a couple of photos of our local Church made out of our local Portland Stone.  For those that are interested St Pauls Cathedral in London is made out of Portland Stone.  Stone carvers love using it as it is lymstone linestone based and good to work with.

The church is really beautiful.  Though at the moment it is closed for restoration purposes.  It was not that long ago it was covered in scaffolding.

Bridport and WestBay trip.

Hi everyone

It was such a nice day today that we decided to take the Land Rover out for a run.  We live near a seaside town called Bridport.  Every Saturday they have a street market.  It is pretty big and they have all sorts of stalls there.  I came across a stall, that sells beads and chandellier pieces and other bits and bobs and I brought some.  I then went into my favourite shope in Bridport which sells crystals and everything estorterical.  I saw some bits that would be just the thing for my fairy house I am planning on making.
Afterwards we went on to West Bay and our favourite little cafe that does the most scrummy cheesy chips I have ever had.  I took a few photos of West Bay.  Its a little fishing village.

On the way home we went through a place called Martinstown.  They had snow drops out already.   I love snowdrops they just make me ecastically  ecstatically happy everytime I see them  Imagine my excitement when I came across this

There was a lovely little church there which we went inside and wrote on the guest book and on they way back to the car we saw several cars tearing past us and I said "they didnt even see the snowdrops." If only every could just take the time to stop and stare a while I am sure the world would be a nicer place.
